Participants also explored various water systems in Chuuk.  Field trips to the main Weno water system, a remote community on Weno, and Piis Paneu provided a breadth of perspectives on diverse drinking water issues in the differing Pacific island environments.

Rainwater catchment is used for drinking water on the low island of Piis Paneu, but secondary (non-potable) water is piped in (spigot in foreground).

A solar-powered pumping station gathers and stores groundwater on Piis Paneu. This untreated water is piped to homes, reducing their dependence on rainwater catchment.
